I really enjoyed my music video for my song 'Get Ready' and I knew I wanted to do more music videos. This time, I'm taking on the challenge of actually directing and producing a music video for my song 'Thinking of You!' I love the process of being able to put my visions to my songs. There's just something magical about music and film together! This music video is expected to be released in late August. I'm excited! :)

Slowly but surely I'm learning how to video edit so I can produce great quality videos for you all to watch. I am always open to feedback and suggestions because I'm willing to learn how to make my videos better!

With that being said, I created 2 short videos over the past 2 months and now it's time to share! YES!
The first video I'll share is my latest skit about what it would be like to audition for a musician's manager. This is an interpretation on how I would think that would go. Enjoy!

The second video I'll share is a short mystery I made called, "Solved." This was my first time using my new camera to video record indoors. It was definitely a learning experience. The main storyline here is: Kat wakes up to find her sheet music destroyed and wants to find out who did it!

This is a R&B song I wrote without a main instrument. I wanted to challenge myself because I'm used to creating a main melody instrument in my songs first be it saxophone, piano or vocals. I basically wanted to imitate the process of being a beats producer like Timbaland. I wanted to make an instrumental perfect for any vocalist to add their own voice and style to it. I love watching mysteries so I decided to write some music that would be perfect for mysteries and suspenseful films. Listed below are 2 variations of a theme I wrote for a mystery. Enjoy!

On March 2nd and 3rd, I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to be a photographer at the annual Arizona Rotary PETS Event 2012. I met great people and took some great photos with my colleague Danielle Deutsch!!

_One of my friends Kevvin Taylor is directing a show called "Black Women Walking" in honor of women's history month. At the Black Arts Showcase that I performed at, I got to hear a skit of part of the show and it was inspirational and educational. I enjoyed what I heard! If you like history and want to learn more about black women in history, I encourage you to check it out.

Getting back into the groove of performing has been rewarding. On Friday February 3rd, I performed at The Black Arts Showcase, "Lift Every Voice" and on February 4th at Hob Nobs cafe in Phoenix, AZ. I had so much fun and the audience was a beautiful energetic crowd! :)

So back in October 2011, I was asked to help out as an extra for a short independent zombie film. Eager to try something new and help out, I said yes. Instead of being an extra, I ended up becoming the actress for the film! haha! My job was to act like a terrible actress. Interesting right? Here is the video below. Did I act out my part well? :-)

Here is my very first music video directed by my good friend Michael Dazen with Alexander D. Chapin and Danielle Deutsch!! Not only is this my first time doing a music video, this is also my very first collaboration. Doing this music video has inspired me to create great music videos in the future! :)
